A case study — redesign of the Chaka Mobile Home-screen

THE CONTEXT

Chaka is a Nigerian company committed to powering digital borderless investing for African businesses and individuals. Chaka is licensed by SEC to operate in the capital markets.

<aside> 💡 Users crave interfaces that are accessible and have good interaction. The noticeable gaps, especially in the area of accessibility and interaction on the homepage, were what I aimed to address.

THE ISSUES

With the outlined issues... I explored and studied competitors like Robinhood, Trove, Bamboo, and other applications using the Drivewealth API.

<aside> 💡 Struggled with recreating how the local portfolio and Global portfolio would be seen if I should remove the tab bar and came up with the designs below:

Took to the Whimsical app to sketch some ideas that I had... I later went for idea one because it would help get rid of the tab and allow users to switch the view based on the card containing Global to switch to Local Portfolio details.
